Minister McGrath affirms budgetary commitment to sustainable finance upskilling
Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Michael McGrath, has announced a number of measures aimed at upskilling and reskilling the workforce in the areas of sustainable finance, green tech and climate change as part of budget 2023.
Minister McGrath announced the creation of over 2,000 Skillnet places as part of a total of 11,000 new training positions in order to mitigate against the economic impact of Brexit, saying,
“Our businesses must be innovative to avail of the opportunities of tomorrow, and to continue to drive growth.”
“I am also providing over 11,000 upskilling and reskilling opportunities for those sectors most impacted by Brexit and over 2,000 Skillnet places in sustainable finance, green tech and climate change.” – Minister Michael McGrath
Earlier this year Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohue identified the implementation of actions contained within the national ‘Sustainable Finance Roadmap’ as being a “top priority” measure under the government’s ‘Ireland for Finance’ strategy.
